Cascade Home Link: An Alternative Learning Experience for students in grades K-8.
At Cascade Home Link, we value hands-on learning, creativity, personal responsibility, leadership, diligence, and connection to the community. Our purpose is to support families that choose a home-based education for their students.
Cascade Home Link is an ALE (Alternative Learning Experience), which operates under the guidelines of the State of Washington and the Cascade School District. ALE Programs are defined as public schools where some (or all) of the instruction is delivered outside the parameters of a “regular classroom” setting, and/or schedule.
Cascade Home Link teachers work alongside parents/guardians to help them build an individualized Student Learning Plan (SLP) that covers the traditional core subjects which will be taught at home (I.e., math, language arts, science, social studies). In turn, Cascade Home Link offers a flexible schedule of both outdoor and indoor enrichment classes to students who enroll. The outdoor Experiential Education class (EE) takes full advantage of the beautiful natural environment of Leavenworth. A few examples of recent EE units of study include botany, orienteering, wilderness first aid, PE, Leadership, and Ecology.
